Marion and Wayland H. Cato Jr. Center for the Arts
The Cato Center opened in January 2010. This building houses the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art and The Hill Exhibition Gallery on the first floor. We have two large painting studios on the fourth floor, a woodshop for building canvases, and our senior exhibition course classroom. The fifth floor is devoted to photography with a massive darkroom for developing film, a state-of-the-art digital photography laboratory, and a lighting studio.
Simons Center for the Arts
Simons Center for the Arts closed for renovations in the Fall of 2021; for more information on the new building, visit the Facilities & Renovation page.
Lightsey Center
The third floor of Lightsey features two large Drawing studios and our Printmaking studio. Studio Art department office is located in room 305.
Sculpture Studio
The Sculpture studio is temporarily located on 136 St Philip Street, where students learn to work with metal, wood, and other materials.
